UX/UI Experience Designer

Why You're Needed

The Experience Designer will work collaboratively with our business and technology teams to develop engaging user experiences for our applications and websites.   You will work through new future-facing updates to current flagship features and provide creative guidance to technology teams for interface and interaction design and delivery of wireframes, design storyboards and design specifications documentation.  You will perform tests against and iterate on designs using context appropriate methodology such as A/B testing, task testing and paper testing and work with technology teams to champion UX best practices and develop a human centered design culture.

This role requires a deep understanding of experience design for digital products and services with a focus on mobile. A balanced understanding of strategy, research, interaction and motion/visual design is a must. You are a customer experience advocate, excited about our customer’s lives through simple, intelligent and enriching products and experiences.

What You’ll Do

  • Interaction Design – Create a design strategy, identify key interactions of the product and create wireframes and prototypes to communicate the design and test concepts.
  • User Research – Elicit clear functional requirements and understand the target audience. Develop and perform appropriate usability tests to validate design and report results to stakeholders and development teams. Develop, apply and test against personas for designs.
  • Visual Design – Develop engaging visual designs that are consistent with the letter and spirit of the Engage Financial Technology brand. Develop visual design components such as page layout, form design and icon design. Promote a consistent visual experience across the enterprise application portfolio.
  • Information Design – Incorporate good information architecture into interface designs and develop best practice on the use of controls used to present information such as charts, tables and graphs. Perform card sort and other research based activities with users to develop navigation and application information flow.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration – Work alongside our technology teams, integrating into the Agile process as necessary and coaching our team members on user experience design. Provide leadership towards a culture of user-centricity in application design.
  • Documentation - Communicating the design and its rationale effectively is critical to successful projects. Document design specifications, design pattern libraries and research findings.

What You’ll Need

  • ‍Bachelor's degree in computer science, digital media, business or related field
  • 4+ years relevant work experience in developing and designing websites and software applications
  • A deep understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Adobe Creative Suite and user experience design principles and tools
  • Proven understanding of mobile application design and screen development, with expertise knowledge in the iOS and Android and Web platforms
  • Develops and sustains effective and cooperative working relationships with peers, managers and other internal or external stakeholders
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Flexibility/adaptability
  • Strong analytical skills necessary
